LESSON PLAN -1
TOPIC – INTODUCTION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Description: Artificial Intelligence, or “AI”, is driving the next wave of technological innovation and is changing almost every industry around us. Artificial Intelligence is the creation of machines to mimic human capabilities, such as teaching a machine to see (recognise objects in an image) and listen (interpret and analyse sounds). In a traditional computer program, our algorithm tells the machine exactly what to do (step-by-step), whereas, in an AI program, the machine is programmed to learn and make its own decisions. Artificial Intelligence is a broad term that covers a range of specialisations and subsets, such as computer vision and natural language processing.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

LESSON PLAN-2
TOPIC : APLLICATION AREAS OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Description: In this lesson children will explore the Artificial Intelligence (AI) area of Computer Vision, and the image processing technique of feature extraction and techniques are used in a whole range of AI systems that enable machines to recognise objects in the world. In this lesson, children are going to explore feature extraction with Australian animals.
Learning Objectives: To make children aware of-
- Computer Vision: Feature Extraction
- Digital Technologies and Key AI Concepts
- Edge detection
- Shape detection
- Image classification
- Natural language processing
Teaching Tools Used:
Text book
PC
AI LAB
Projector (for demonstration)
PROCEDURE
Previous knowledge of children will be checked through quizzes and questionarrare
Discussion:
Following concepts will be discuss in classroom:
- How machine detects the edge of any object.
- Concept of pixels and resolution will be discussed.
- Video will be shown to the children for better understanding
Activities:
Activity 1:
Students exploring the concept of how a computer can use lines to represent a shape, perhaps a car or an animal. As a whole class, the teacher works with students to look at an image and to talk about the various shapes they see – triangles, circles, rectangles. In the first activity, students copy the first image of the elephant by drawing the shapes over the top of the kangaroo. Students can also take the shapes from this worksheet and work on a number of images, trying to fit the shapes to the image, and seeing whether there are common shapes that occur for the same type of image, for example always having circles to represent wheels on a car.
Activity 2:
Quick Draw!
Quick Draw, to demonstrate how AI is using knowledge of shapes, pixels and feature extraction (see previous lesson) to guess what a human is drawing. This also provides an opportunity for students to experience being a participant in generating a drawing for an AI dataset!
Activity 3: A worksheet will be provided to children in which they have to detect the edge of a star by following the instructions given int the worksheet. Reference worksheet :
Discussion on how a machine uses lines to detect a shape will be conducted.
